Free templates and frameworks used in our facilitation engagements. Take them, use them, share them.
The same decision log template we use in high-stakes leadership sessions. Designed to capture decisions, owners, and commitments - not discussion points.
A good decision entry includes: what was decided (not ‘discussed’), what was given up, who owns it, and how you will know it worked.
Free to use. If this template helps, share it or book a facilitation fit call.
State the decision clearly and specifically. Not ‘should we...’ but ‘we will / we will not...’
List 2-4 options that were genuinely evaluated before making this decision.
What are we giving up or de-prioritising by making this choice?
Name + role: Deadline:
Who or what does this depend on? Who needs to be informed?
How will we know this decision was right? What will we measure and when?
Weak: ‘We discussed the marketing budget’ - this is a topic, not a decision
Weak: ‘We should look into hiring more sales staff’ - this is a suggestion, not a commitment
Strong: ‘We will increase Q2 marketing spend by £80k, funded by deferring the product relaunch to Q3. Owner: CMO. Deadline: 31 March.’
